1974
Our first ambulance was built in the driveway or our owner and founder. He began with the goal of building the safest ambulances on the road.
1979
Miller Coach Company officially incorporated in 1979.
1980’s
During the early 1980’s, our company entered the competitive market with dozens of other ambulance and specialty vehicle fabricators.
Throughout the economic ebb and flow of the next five decades, only a few of the companies from the 1980’s are still operating. We are proud to be one of the oldest ambulance manufacturers in the United States.
2007
In 2007, we added the Mercedes Benz Sprinter to our product line and featured a forward-facing seat concept as an alternative to traditional squad-bench designs.
We further developed a crew member workstation solution that offered improved access and more work space from a seated position.
2014
2014 brought the introduction of the Ford Transit. Since then, we have delivered over 1,500 Ford Transit Type II units implementing our signature “safer by design” mission.
2020
In summer of 2020 we moved to our current facility in Springfield, Missouri. Our renovated building with 70,000 square foot was better equipped to meet the current demands of the industry and continue the decades of success at Miller Coach.
COVID-19
When the COVID-19 pandemic gripped our world, Miller Coach responded. In the very early moments of the spread, New York City was the epicenter of the crisis. EMS providers from across the country were asked to send their ambulance units to New York for assistance.
Here is a photo clip from an NBC Nightly news broadcast in March 2020 showing Miller Coach units from various EMS providers, ready to mobilize in New York City.
The entire automobile industry experienced struggles during the pandemic. Miller Coach Company is proud that we have never laid off an employee, even through turbulent economic times. That job security builds trust in our staff, and that trust translates into an exceptional product.
2023-Future
We experienced a record-breaking year by delivering more units than ever before in our history. As we look to the future, we will continue the tradition of excellence that Miller Coach has been known for throughout the last half century.
Accolades
We were the first to present alternatives to traditional Type II squad bench designs by offering the safer option of forward-facing seats. Because of our innovative designs and vehicles, Miller Coach has repeatedly been honored with safety and innovation awards from the EMS Safety Foundation and EMS World.
